Last Tri of 2014

So are you ready for the last tri of 2014?!?!  Black Sands Tri Club will be out in force again this weekend at Mission Bay for race number two of the Panasonic Peoples Tri series.

We'll have our gazebo set up (keep an eye out for our club flag) and this will be a place for clubbies and their supporters to hang out, stash gear and of course enjoy a sausage or two post race.  We'll also have some Pure electrolyte made up and ready to consume before you get stuck into the beersies!!  BYO chair if you can't face the thought of trying to get up from the grass after you sit down.  For the newbies out there, there will be plenty of experienced people around to help with any last minute questions.

So stop checking the weather forecast every 5 minutes...  it's going to be OK!!  Come join us and celebrate the end of 2014...  It's also not too late to enter if you haven't already done so and if you're looking for people to form a team, drop us an email as we may be able to help out.

Swim Squad Over Christmas Period

Coach Ben Chidgey will be taking the Wednesday swim squad on Christmas Eve.  We'll be having a dip (he promised no test set!) and then heading for breakfast at Sierra Cafe Lincoln Road.

If you feel like getting into the Christmas spirit, bring along a $5 secret Santa pressie which we'll exchange over brekkie.

The swim squad will be taking a break over Christmas and won't be run on 31st December and 7th January.  We will resume again on 14th January.

Ocean Swim Update

This weekend we're at St Heliers for our ocean swim.  Meet on the beach opposite Moretons Bar and Restaurant at 7:25am for a pre-swim briefing.  All abilities will be catered for.  This Saturday will be the last kayak supported ocean swim for 2014.  We will resume our organised ocean swims on Saturday 10th January.

If you still want to ocean swim over the Christmas period, keep an eye out on our Facebook page as some members may still be heading out from St Heliers or Mission Bay (depending on the tide).

We are still looking for people to help man the kayak at our Saturday ocean swims.  We have a roster available on our website - so please email us if you can help out.  Many hands make light work!!
