Coaching Qualifications

Level 1 TriNZ Coach

Specialist Knowledge

  • Beginner adult triathletes who lack the confidence but not the drive to achieve.

  • Beginner half Ironman & full Ironman.

  • Improving age grouper half & full Ironman.

Personal note:

Original background was athletics – cross countries, road racing, half marathons and marathons.  Was a total non-swimmer and had never owned a bike until aged 40 when began to learn to swim and finally purchased my own ten-speed bicycle.  Knew zero about swimming and biking – never learnt to change a bike puncture until well into mid-40’s.  However within two years completed in my first NZ Ironman in Auckland – so understand the physical and mental mind sets required to overcome the fear of swimming and fear of riding on New Zealand roads.

Have since learnt to change a puncture – and become a competent swimmer.
